Our students have passed the Australian Intern Pharmacist Oral Exam
A proud milestone for every student, every mentor and the entire Elite Expertise family — and one more step on the journey from provisional to fully registered pharmacist.
More than an exam — a journey towards registration
Behind this achievement are months of dedication: live classes, mock oral examinations, countless hours of role play practice, and the determination of students who believed in themselves and trusted the learning process.
Every examination session reminds us why we started Elite Expertise. Our goal has always been to help pharmacists become confident healthcare professionals who can practise safely, communicate effectively and make the right clinical decisions in Australian pharmacy practice. A 95% pass rate reflects more than strong teaching — it reflects students who showed up to every class, accepted feedback positively, practised every mock scenario, and kept improving right up to exam day.
Your success inspires the next generation of pharmacists
We congratulate every successful candidate who trusted Elite Expertise during this important stage of their registration journey. Today, you have taken one step closer to becoming a fully registered pharmacist in Australia, and we wish each of you a rewarding and successful career ahead.
What the Intern Oral Exam actually tests
The oral exam is conducted by the Pharmacy Board of Australia (PBA) and is the final competency assessment before provisional pharmacists become eligible for general registration. Unlike a traditional written exam, it is a performance-based assessment that evaluates whether a candidate can safely apply pharmacy knowledge in real-world situations, across three parts.
Primary Health Care
The candidate provides patient counselling, recommends appropriate over-the-counter medicines, addresses minor ailments and demonstrates effective communication.
Law & Professional Practice
This session tests knowledge of Australian pharmacy legislation, legal responsibilities, professional ethics and safe pharmacy practice.
Problem Solving & Communication
Widely considered the most challenging section: identifying prescription errors, communicating risk, recognising medication-related problems, counselling patients and demonstrating clinical reasoning using approved reference resources.
Preparation built around practical learning
The Intern Oral Exam is a major milestone on the path from pharmacy intern to fully registered pharmacist in Australia. Our June 2026 batch's success shows how a well-defined learning goal, expert guidance and a supportive community can turn a genuine challenge into an achievable goal. Students don't simply study pharmacy — they learn how to think, how to speak, and how to perform like registered hospital pharmacists.
- Structured role play practice
- Live, examiner-style mock oral examinations
- Clinical reasoning workshops
- Australian pharmacy law and ethics sessions
- Plain English communication training
- Prescription error detection exercises
What our students say about their journey
Every student's exam preparation is different, but one thing they all have in common is that structured guidance made a real difference.
The mentors never made learning feel stressful. They explained complex clinical cases in simple English, and their guidance helped me communicate more confidently during the oral exam.
Linsha Paul ThottianThe mock exams were the biggest confidence boost for me. Every feedback session helped me improve step by step. By exam day, I felt prepared because I had already practised similar scenarios with the Elite Expertise mentors.
Mona GabrielElite Expertise gave me so much more than study materials. Their detailed feedback, personalised mentoring and constant encouragement helped me believe I could clear the exam on my first attempt.
